Swing set revamp: slide edition
It’s only been 3 years since I built the swing set but I never got around to staining that top board. When we decided to get a slide and add a little fort structure to it this year, I stained most of the fort but not that beam because it required both a ladder and my husband being around. And then finally, yesterday I got around to staining that beam!
I built this swing set tall so I could swing as well (child at heart here) and also do my yoga trapeze hanging from it. In order to get this in place we had to lay it flat and roll it up while also holding the rope to make sure it didn’t roll down the hill! We wanted the slide to last a long time age wise so it’s a long one, for a 5’ play deck! I first built the swing set when our son was one year old, so 2019. It had a single swing for Halle and a baby swing for Calvin on it which was perfect for our family at the time. Then we kept on adding to it with other swings and a rock-wall on the edge. Then this year decided they needed some more space and a bit more to do, so we added the little fort structure, steering wheel and telescope, and slide. We modified the rock wall to be a square! Head to the bottom of the post for links to the specific products I used.
The pictures below show the space before anything was fully cleared or built, the original swing set, and the in progress view.
Here are all of the products I used to make this structure, all paid links. The brackets, swings , the swing holders , the rock wall holds , the slide , the telescope https://amzn.to/3PUcxTj , the wheel https://amzn.to/3BGeTku , the handles .
