As minimalists we don't want a bunch of junk in our house cluttering up everything. This year Calvin is really into legos so that was our main focus for gift requests. Legos are also endlessly versatile so I’m ok having lots because we put them in a bin and they can be put away. They also hold our kids’ focus like nothing else and they both get so much joy from successfully finishing a kit! I highly recommend Amazon gift lists and sending them out to friends and family! We’ve been using them for a number of years and LOVE them! Calvin is also in the early middle of his baseball season so we got him his own baseball helmet. Last year we took the kids to Disneyland as a joint birthday present and originally this year we wanted to take them to Legoland but couldn’t swing it. Hopefully my sister will buy a house in San Diego soon and we will be able to stay for free and still take them to Legoland before too long.
