Magical Getaway

We had the most unexpectedly magical 8th anniversary getaway last December. We have been trying to get to a Getaway cabin for years, we’ve even had two separate trips booked and had to cancel both of them for different reasons. We finally made it out for our 8th anniversary and we are already scheming to get back. Talk about minimalism, simple living, slowing down, and relaxing. Wow it was such a treat! We played games, read books, watched the snow falling and took some chilly snow walks!

Everything about these cabins is so intentional, minimal, and thought through in every way. The basics for cooking, food storage above the kitchen area with tons of space, a bench for the table that doubles as clothing storage under and a step to get into bed. Theres also a table which I didn’t see in the pictures, that was perfect for playing Life, eating on, and having another sitting option other then the bed. There’s a shower with hot water, amazing windows that you never want to shut the blinds on, beautiful views and all of the cabins have a picture window that looks out to the woods. It’s private and cozy and wonderful. The matte black exterior was one of my favorite parts, totally my vibe. for summer use there’s a picnic table, Adirondack chairs and a fire pit, obviously with a couple feet of snow we didn’t get to use these but we can’t wait to come back and use them.

We had thought about bringing our kids for our other trips, but after our time here we will wait until they are a little older or go in the summer and treat it like a waterproof tent. This time of year with small children who aren’t just content to sit and read and play games all day would be tough, there’s no where to get the zoomies in here and that would be too hard. Ha!

If this looks like something you’d like to try feel free to use this link for $25 off your first stay! Also as always feel free to leave any comments or questions about Getaway!
